Can you guess what we want to do?
I’m no stranger to game jams. See Breathing Room, Millinaut, and Vonneguts & Glory. Even Flip’s Escape was essentially the product of a jam. After each one I go on about how creatively rejuvenating the experience is.
The most recent Ludum Dare was no different. Except it was completely different. When it was over Matt, Rusty, and I had enjoyed working together and what we had created together so much that we didn’t want to let it go. “Wouldn’t it be cool,” we thought, “if we could do this all the time?” What if we could crunch on a game idea, free of preconceptions and expectations, for three days, then spend the next thirty polishing the hell out of it? So that’s what we did:
Super Clew Land Complete was just a proof of concept but it totally worked! Starting in January we want to make six games in six months following the same formula. We hope you want that too.
