New Wave

Based on a suggestion from Antonio Carusone I’ve updated the Shortwave bookmarklet to open a new window/tab when any trigger is prefixed with a space. The updated bookmark tries to give the new window focus but whether Shortwave opens in a window or tab or in the foreground or the background depends on the browser and how that browser is configured.

Unfortunately this change couldn’t be made on the server-side so if you want this new functionality you will need to grab/create an updated bookmark. To streamline potential future changes to the bookmark the site now uses a cookie to remember your custom command file url.
